Kabul process meeting to be held on June 6 in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai has chaired the preparation and coordination meeting of Kabul Process Huddle, a statement from the foreign ministry said on Thursday.

The meeting was aimed at exploring the objectives and prospects of the Kabul process huddle which will be held on June 6 in Kabul. Ambassadors and representatives from the friendly countries attended the meeting.

According to decision of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistaninfo-icon, the “Kabul Process” meeting will held in Kabul with participation of the Republic of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamic Republic of Pakistaninfo-icon, Republic of India, Republic of Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, State of Qatar, United States of America, Kingdom of Great Britain, Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of Norway, Canada, United Nations Organization and the European Union to discuss on the peace, security and counterterrorism issues.

The “Kabul Process” is the supplement of the meetings and mechanism, holding for the purpose of peace consolidation and combating security threats which focuses on Afghanistan.

At the meeting of the Kabul Process, the common security threats faced to Afghanistan, region and the worldinfo-icon will be discussed and finding solutions and drawing its cooperation mechanism, removing the threats through political and military means, attracting cooperation and the effective role of the regional and international partners of Afghanistan in the peace process with armed opposition will be consulted with concerned countries.
