9 civilians injured in Kapisa explosion

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): At least nine civilians were wounded in a bomb blast in Kohistan-I-Dohum district of central Kapisa province on Saturday morning, officials said.

Police spokesman, Mohammad Ayub Yousafzi told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place in Jamal Agha Bazaar of the district at around 9am.

He said the explosives were rigged in a motorcycle which remotely exploded that left three civilians injured.

But, Dr. Agha Sherin, a doctor at Kapisa Civil Hospital, said eight people including a child were evacuated to the hospital. Some injured might have shifted to emergency hospital of neighbor Panjsher province.

Ahmad Shabbir, a shopkeeper in Jamal Agha Bazaar said a number of injured people were shifted to hospitals in Mahmood Raqi, Kapisa capital and some to Panjsher province for treatment.

However, governor’s spokesman, Qais Qaderi, said nine people including two children were injured were injured in the explosion.
